Luc Destrubé

Owner & CEO

Luc Destrube is the Owner and CEO of Lumia Group Contracting, a North Vancouver based construction
company specializing in high end residential renovations and custom homes throughout Metro
Vancouver. He began his career as an electrician, became a licensed Master Electrician, then expanded
into residential construction as a Licensed Residential Home Builder.

Luc’s technical background and years of hands on project experience have shaped his philosophy that
exceptional homes are built through thoughtful planning, transparent communication, and
uncompromising attention to detail. He has a particular passion for building science, energy efficiency,
and creating homes that perform exceptionally for generations. Under his leadership, Lumia Group has
earned a reputation for honesty, accountability, and an organized, client focused approach.

Outside of work, Luc enjoys spending time with his wife, Mia, and their two young sons, Leo and Dax.
Whether exploring the North Shore mountains or travelling with his family, he brings the same curiosity,
dedication, and drive to his personal life as he does to every project.

Mia Destrubé

Director, People and Client Relations

Mia is Lumia’s Director of People & Client Relations. She holds a Master of Science in International Business and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR BC & Yukon). Before joining Lumia, she spent several years working for an HR consulting firm, helping businesses build strong teams, develop leaders, and create positive workplace cultures.

After going through several home renovations herself, Mia understands the homeowner’s perspective and just how much trust it takes to invite a team into your home. Joining Lumia gave her the opportunity to combine her HR background with her passion for people while helping grow the family business alongside her husband, Luc. She is committed to making sure both clients and the Lumia team feel supported, heard, and genuinely cared for throughout every project.

Outside of work, Mia loves spending time with her two young boys, fitting in a spin class, or enjoying a matcha latte on the North Shore.

Ethan Kennedy

Project Manager

Ethan is a Project Manager at Lumia, bringing more than 14 years of hands on construction experience to
the team. With a background in carpentry, including remote access projects, forming, and framing, he has
developed a practical understanding of construction and a strong commitment to delivering quality
workmanship. His field experience allows him to manage projects effectively while building strong
relationships with clients, trades, and project partners.

Ethan’s journey with Lumia began through a longtime friendship with Lumia’s Owner and CEO, Luc.
Having known Luc for many years, he believed in Lumia’s vision from the very beginning and was
excited to be part of building a company rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and strong relationships.

Outside of work, Ethan stays active through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a passion he has pursued for nearly five
years. The discipline, perseverance, and continuous learning the sport demands reflect the same mindset
he brings to every project.

With over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, Taylor has built his career from the
ground up, starting as a general labourer and advancing to Project Manager. He holds a degree in Management from the University of British Columbia and brings a wealth of knowledge and a keen eye for detail to every project.

unit new construction projects. He holds a degree in Building Science from Algonquin College in Ottawa,
a program that blends green architecture, materials science, and innovative building practices.

Conor has always been interested in home building, which is why he studied Building Science and began
his career in custom homes. He takes pride in his work and aims to deliver high quality results on every
project. What drew him to Lumia was its commitment to quality. From his first conversations with Luc
and Mia, he could tell they truly care about building great homes, doing things the right way, and creating
a positive team culture, values that matter to him and that he is proud to bring to every project, regardless
of size.

Outside of work, Conor enjoys woodworking a whittle bit. Specifically, working with hand tools to carve
spoons and figurines, as well as refinish furniture.

Kayla Olexiuc

Accounting Manager

Kayla is Lumia’s Accounting Manager, bringing 20 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting. She began her career as a bookkeeper at just 18 years old and has been building her expertise ever since, including running her own bookkeeping business.

Kayla later became a certified Insolvency Administrator, working in bankruptcy accounting for a firm where she sharpened her skills even further. She also spent three years gaining valuable experience and education in the Canadian Military, all while continuing to run her bookkeeping business on the side. This blend of disciplined training and hands on entrepreneurship gives her a well rounded and dedicated approach to her work.

Kayla found Lumia after seeing a hiring ad and was immediately drawn to the company’s beautifully designed, client centered website. From her very first meeting with Luc and Mia, Kayla knew they were genuine, down to earth, family orientated people. She loves being part of a team where she never feels like just another employee number, and she is excited to see how Lumia grows in the years ahead.

Outside of work, Kayla enjoys discovering obscure nature spots, picnicking near lakes, and cooking fancy meals, including a mean cheesecake. On weekends you can usually find her binge watching a good show.

Courtney Underwood

Executive Assistant & Operations Coordinator

Courtney is Lumia’s Executive Assistant and Operations Coordinator, bringing more than 15 years of experience in the real estate development industry. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Simon Fraser University and has built her career on operational expertise, organization, and a genuine passion for supporting people and projects.

company’s growth has never wavered. His work ethic and attention to detail reflect the same standards of
quality and integrity that Lumia was built on, and he continues to be a trusted part of the team on every
project.

Outside of Lumia, Nathaniel works as a stunt double in the film industry, taking on a wide range of stunt
work across the board, from action sequences to driving and beyond. It is a pursuit that demands the same
discipline, precision, and hard work he brings to the job site, and he approaches every day with that same
dedication to his craft. In his downtime, he enjoys spending time with family and training to stay ready
for his next role.
