This project transformed a former space into a fully branded SIXT Rental Car storefront, delivering a bold, modern retail environment in the heart of downtown Vancouver’s West End.
The existing space was gutted and reconfigured to suit a retail rental car service model, with new interior partitions, finishes, and mechanical systems installed throughout. Lumia Group Contracting worked alongside the City of Vancouver to bring SIXT’s global brand standards to life, including custom orange service counters, black accent walls, and track lighting designed to highlight the brand’s signage and vehicle displays. The existing storefront glazing and entry doors were retained and refreshed to maintain strong street presence at the corner of Thurlow Street and Rosemary Brown Lane.
A key focus of the buildout was translating SIXT’s corporate identity into a cohesive, immersive space. Illuminated logo signage, large format wall graphics, and vehicle silhouette murals were integrated throughout, paired with custom built service desks finished in the brand’s signature orange. Matte black walls and ceilings were used throughout to create contrast and draw focus to the branded elements.
The completed space delivers a striking, on brand customer experience that stands out while functioning efficiently as a rental car service counter and pickup location. The buildout balances bold branding with practical, durable finishes suited to high traffic commercial use.
